How to enter a fellowship proposal in Kuali Research.

Critical Concepts

A fellowship is: (a) merit based (in response to a competitive application); (b) awarded to a specific individual (award follows the individual should they leave the university); (c) mentored; and (d) intended to enhance an individual’s potential to develop into an independent researcher/scholar.

Steps To Take

1. On the Create Proposal screen:

• The Activity Type field should be Basic Research 
• The Anticipated Agreement type field should be Fellowship

2. When the Anticipated Agreement type field is listed as Fellowship, a fellowship questionnaire will be enabled in the Questionnaire section

3. In the Key Personnel section:

• Assign the Fellow with the Principal Investigator role
• Assign the Mentor with the Key Personnel role and in the 'Key Person's role will be' field enter Mentor
